VOTING IN LEE COUNTY
REGISTRATION: YOU MAY REGISTER TO VOTE if you are a citizen of the United States and are at least 18 years old. You must be registered to vote in order to vote in any election. You must be registered no later than ten days prior to an election.
YOU MAY REGISTER TO VOTE IN PERSON when you seek services of the following agencies: Alabama Department of Public Safety -- Drivers License; Department of Human Resources; Department of Rehabilitation Services; Aabama Medicaid Agency; County and select Municipal public libraries; and Armed Forces Recruiting Stations.
YOU MAY REGISTER TO VOTE BY MAIL by obtaining a form from the following: Probate Judges' offices; License Commissioner's offices; all public four-year universities and colleges; public schools; and all of the above offices listed under the agency-based Voter Registration program. Fill out the postcard voter registration form completely and mail it back to :

Cards must reach Registrar ten days before election. You should receive a postcard confirming your registration and naming your voting place.

ABSENTEE VOTING
If you will be out of the county, you may vote in person on the Saturday 10 days before or the Tuesday prior to the election at County Court House, or City Hall in Auburn or Loachapoka.

TYPES OF ELECTIONS
PRIMARIES are held in even-numbered years. The first Tuesday after the first Monday in June has been set by the Legislature as Primary Day. A run-off is held three weeks later in contests where no candidate has gained a majority.
GENERAL ELECTIONS are held the first Tuesday after the first Monday in even-numbered years.
SPECIAL ELECTIONS are referenda on bond issues, constitutional amendments, taxes, etc., and usually occur at times specified in legislative acts.
MUNICIPAL NONPARTISON ELECTIONS for Auburn City Goverment Officials are held in even-numbered years the fourth Tuesday in August. A run-off, if necessary, takes place three weeks later.
