PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE:  The past two months have been difficult for all of us.  I pray that you are rapidly recuperating.  From the messages I have received, you are all survivors.  It is most urgent that we regroup immediately, budget our time wisely, and go about our work.  Your Board has been very busy juggling a new schedule and rolling with the punches.  Our Board meets the second Wednesday of each month at the Daphne Library.  The time has been changed to 11 AM.  Remember, these are open meetings for members to attend as you wish.  Rebecca Sebring will not be able to continue publishing The Baldwin Voter, but extends her loving support to us.  NOW, on to the NEWS!

HELP PROMOTE A CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION!

Your assistance is cordially requested to help promote a new petition drive. The ACCR is launching an aggressive campaign to persuade the Legislature to call a constitutional convention.  The petition reads as follows:

We, the undersigned residents of Alabama, petition the elected officials of this great state to take the action necessary to call for a convention of elected citizens for the purpose of presenting a new constitution to the voters of Alabama as soon as possible.

The Baldwin Voter –Oct, Nov, Dec 2004 - page 2

Cathy Golden, Chair of the petition drive, recently announced, "We will launch a yearlong campaign to gather 50,000 signatures to present to our elected officials so that they understand how serious the people of Alabama are about reforming our outdated constitution.  We are looking for volunteers to work at polling places in Baldwin County on Election Day, November 2nd."
