The LWVAL Advocacy Team has established the following legislative priorities for the 2008 General Session of the Alabama Legislature. The League will advocate only on legislation that impacts LWVAL Positions , LWVUS Positions, and/or the fundamental League Principles. League positions are based on unbiased study of an issue followed by member consideration of the study findings and member agreement.

The legislative session will open February 5, 2008. The League's actions will be based on an ongoing assessment of the opportunities to affect change.
